Senior Living Conference

The Assisted Living Facility is a community within a community and due to the age of the population requires many support systems for this population that is growing on a global scale. Because of the changing configuration of where people live and the creation of community pods that is more free standing than facilities, enabling greater independence and freedom there needs to be interventions to support these goals.
Every eight seconds a boomer becomes 60 years of age. And with 6 million Americans over 85 the demand for housing and healthcare is growing exponentially. Coupled with 80% of senior care being provide by 43.5 million caregivers, who do need respite many support solutions have been developed and are being currently coming off production. These support tools are further needed due to the fact that over 17% or 1/5 of caregivers lives more than 1 hour away from their family or relative.
With the age co-hort of the caregiver who is talking care of their 100 year old Mom you have 145 of the Caregivers being over 65. Critical staff shortages of “ trained/paid” caregivers is further exacerbating this growing crisis.Nana technologies are needed since home care distances and the need for the most efficient and effective tools has created the “ aha” moment for creativity. We will be seeing microchip based technology for health and wellness tools such as the “Magic Medicine Cabinet (reminding when and what to take) and notifying you that you are taking your husband’s
